The Old Vicarage is in the village of Morwenstow, the most northerly parish in Cornwall just down the road from the lovely Bush Inn. We are set in a tranquil, secluded location just five minutes walk from the coast path, where the National Trust’s smallest building, ‘Hawker’s Hut’, is built into the face of the cliff overlooking the sea out towards the island of Lundy. Here, the eccentric Victorian Reverand Hawker spent many hours in contemplation, writing poetry, and smoking his opium pipe.
The seaside town of Bude, with spendid sandy beaches, amentities and lovely old canal just 10 miles to the south.
Close to the border, we are ideally situated for exploring the best of both Devon and Cornwall with the beautiful fishing villages of Clovelly, Boscastle and Port Isaac just a few minutes drive away and Exmoor, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor all visible on a fine day!
